Co-owner, business side and estimates
Co-owner of Heat Wave Outdoor Scapes
From real estate to backyards
Before Heat Wave, Nick worked as a realtor. Showing homes to clients, he kept finding himself looking at the yards, and he enjoyed the planting side of a property. He had spare time and wanted to put it into something new, and he already knew Justin was in the trade.
Starting Heat Wave
Nick and Justin started Heat Wave together in 2022. For Nick it began as a side business and turned into a second career. He learned the trade from Justin, and the two split the work: Justin runs everything on the construction side, and Nick handles the business side.
What Nick does on your project
Nick does estimates at homeowners' houses. He walks the yard with you, talks through what you want, and writes up the quote.
Why every quote is line by line
Before he was in the business, the quotes Nick got listed the work and put one big price at the bottom. He didn't like that, so Heat Wave does it differently. Every item on a Heat Wave quote has its own price, so you can see exactly what each part costs, pick what fits your budget now, and save other items for a second phase. There are no hidden fees and no charges added at the end.
In his own words
"I always enjoy planting or looking at yards when I'm trying to sell homes with clients."
"I'd get a list of the things they were going to do and one big price at the bottom. I hate that. So I don't want to provide that to our customer."
"There's no hidden fees. There's no charges that come at the end. Everything is up front."
